The Canon EOS Rebel T2i: 550D Vs 500D Vs 7D
First of all, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i has a higher resolution of 18 megapixels, as compared to its predecessors 15.1. it features excellent noise control and repair, and because its screen of a 3:2 ratio is the same size as the sensor, there are no black lines on the bottom and top of the photo and the entire screen is being utilized.
But it’s not just the photo features of the Canon EOS Rebel T2i that are wowing the world. just like its father the 500D, the 550D is capable of taking high definition video as well. But unlike the 500D, the 550D has features that are comparable to the much pricier professional 7D. it offers video in an impressive 1080p video with choices from 24, 25 and 30 fps. also, and this is possibly one of the best things about this camera, the 550D features an input socket for an external microphone the lack of which is possibly one of the largest boons of the 500D. and not only that, it also gives the ability to record video in a fully manual setting, whereas its predecessor only had the aperture opening to manipulate.
But the Canon EOS Rebel T2i also has a special feature that neither the 500D nor the 7D have, and that is the movie crop mode, which allows the camera to record only the center of the entire view, which results in high magnification. That’s a zoom of 7.2 times more than normal, and is a magnification that no other models have ever seen. even though this will result in a pixelation that is non-HD, as can be expected with digital zooming, the fact alone that you have the chance to capture subjects that are quite out of reach is quite a pull for people.
All in all, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i is a camera that has truly topped its ancestors. more and more people are starting to recognize the quality of Canon entry-level cameras, and with good reason too. the 550D will certainly be leaving its mark in the photography world, and may quite possibly be the starting point of the next big thing.
