Canon PowerShot S100

The DIGIC 5 is here and Canon has introduced the new image processor in two different PowerShot cameras that will retail for $430 each. the first camera is the Canon PowerShot SX40 HS, which will be available starting in late September. Updating the SX30 IS, the SX40 features a 12.1 megapixel CMOS image sensor as opposed to the previous model’s 14 megapixel CCD.
According to Canon, the move to a CMOS sensor along with the DIGIC 5 image processor results in a significant increase in image quality. High-Speed Burst HQ mode makes it possible to shoot eight frames per second at full resolution, a vast improvement over the previous model. Besides excellent low light capabilities, the SX40 sports a 35x optical zoom and 2.7 inch LCD display.
